You do not have to be an investigator to make a difference. There are several ways to help bring renewed attention to Louisiana’s unsolved homicides and endangered missing person cases, from sharing information and contributing research to helping offset the cost of public records and archival research.

Submit a Tip
Have information about a case? What you consider an insignificant or minute detail, could be the catalyst that solves the case.  Report it to the investigating agency, or if you’d rather, submit the information through our Tip Form.

Update a Case
Have a photograph, document, correction, newspaper article, family recollection, or other information that could improve one of our case profiles? Share it here.

Opt In Your DNA
If you’ve taken a DNA test through Ancestry or 23andMe, consider submitting the raw data file to GEDmatch, FamilyTreeDNA, or DNA Justice, and opt-in to law enforcement matching. Your profile could help forensic genealogists identify unknown victims or suspects.

Share Case Profiles
Visibility matters. Share case summaries on your favorite social media platforms – Facebook, X, or Reddit to get fresh eyes on older cases. Whether you re-share our posts, someone else’s or create your own, getting the word out makes a real impact!

Join an Organized Search
Participate in organized searches, if you’re able. Extra feet on the ground are always needed, and can make a meaningful difference. Observe personal safety first.

Attend Local Vigils & Memorial Events
Show up for victims and their families. Attending candlelight vigils or memorial events lets grieving families know their loved ones are not forgotten.

Research & Write a Case Profile for LCCP
